Dualism

from $50.00

This image, while a favorite of mine, has always felt somehow misleading. On the surface, it is a tiny, uninhabited island in the Caribbean Sea that can be circumnavigated on foot in less than 20 minutes, which is exactly what I did upon landing at shore. The view here was indeed pristine, the picture-perfect postcard of a tropical beachy vibe. What is not seen in the frame is the other side of the island. There, the flow of the current had brought in piles of plastic and trash washed in from afar and trapped in the island's small inlets. Hence, the title, along with a gentle reminder that we are all connected.
