Arising in the dark before the sun had risen and setting out across the vast horizons of the Salar de Uyuni, I photographed minute-by-minute, each frame an entirely different landscape that was slowly illuminated in the brightening day. In just a few moments after this, the world would become awash in the blinding white light of the Bolivian salt flats.
